THE UFC:
UFC is the #1 MMA organazation in the world, but don't you think it would be cool to break down the UFC as a whole fight by fight? Well The Cody has done that for you (sort of) and has it here for you all to enjoy.
As of UFC 113 the UFC has had a total of 1,368 fights. Percentage that a fight has ended in submission is 30.12%, percentage that a fight has ended by K.O or T.K.O is 37.21% and the percentage that a fight has ended in Decision is 31.21%. Think that is cool, have you ever wonder what round in the UFC has a fight ended the most in? Well I have that answer.......the 1st round is the round a UFC fight has ended the most in with 592 finishes. Than is the 2nd round with 234, 3rd round 91....and for championship fights 7 have ended in the 4th round and 2 just 2 have ended in the 5th round. There is a puzzle for the TLOS fans to solve, which 2 ended in the 5th round and the 7 ended in the 4th. Oh wait, The Cody is not done. The average number of rounds for a UFC event is 1.95 due to more than half the number of UFC fights ending in the 1st round.
What about UFC records? Who holds the most wins in UFC history or the most losses? Hmmm I wonder. Ah-Ha The Cody once again has the answer. The guy who holds the most wins in UFC history is not Anderson Silva or Georges St.Pierre. It is everyone's favorite fighter in the world......Matt Hughes with 17. But Anderson Silva does hold the record for most consecutive wins with 11 also the most consecutive title defenses with 6. Randy Couture has been in the most UFC title bouts. With 15, and he has gone 9-6 in those title bouts. But him and Matt Hughes tie with the most UFC title wins with 9....which means Anderson Silva has to win 4 more to beat the record..not bad. Chuck Liddell, Tito Ortiz, Randy Couture and Matt Hughes have had the most fights in the UFC with 22. Of the four Matt Hughes has the better record with 17-5. Who has the most losses in the UFC? Well the answer may come to a surprise for those of you who think it is Johnathan Goulet hahaha, it is Tank Abbott with 10.
How about some UFC records we all know about, or maybe you dont. We all know the fastest knock out in UFC history was Todd Duffee, but what about the fastest submission? Well that would be Marcus Aureilo with a 16 second armbar over Ryan Roberts at UFC Fight Night 13. Most career takedowns in the UFC belong to Karo Parisyan (woah) with 53. Most career significant strikes landed would belong to Georges St. Pierre with 628. Highest striking accuracy would be Anderson Silva with 76% and Most guard passes would be Matt Hughes with 72. The youngest fighter in UFC history would be Dan Lauzon in his first UFC fight against Spencer Fisher when he was 18 years 7 months and 16 days old.....the oldest fighter would be NOT Randy Couture but Ron Van Clief who was 51 years 11 months and 21 days old, who lost to Royce Gracie at UFC 4. Who was the youngest title holder ever? I bet alot of you think it is GSP or BJ Penn? Nope it was Carlos Newton at 24 years 9 Months and 16 days old.
Finally, some economy UFC records shall we. Ok well not really but whatever. The biggest crowd at a UFC event was 21,451 people at UFC 97 which was the rebirth of Shogun Rua in a knockout of Chuck Liddell, but also had to endure one of UFC's worst fights in history with Anderson Silva vs Thales Leites. And Finally the highest gate revenue in UFC history is, $5.1 Million at UFC 83 GSP vs Serra 2.
Maybe The Cody missed something, but hey now you know a little bit more about The UFC. If it was boring I am sorry, but hey I thought it was interesting and I thought I would share it with fellow TLOS fans.
