Dragon Gate USA and Ring of Honor usually puts on better matches than WWE & TNA anyways...

Tito Ortiz did get paid $5000 to be a guest referee in TNA Pro-Wrestling a while back.

John Cena used to train at the R1 Gym (former home mma gym of Frank Trigg) before WWE. He was training in there pro-wrestling program. R1 Gym has a MMA program and Pro-Wrestling program.

Mark Calaway (The Undertaker) is a legit Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Brown Belt. He trains BJJ during his "off time."

Lyoto Machida's former manager Antonio Inoki was a pro-wrestler. If anyone remembers that Antonio Inoki Vs. Muhammad Ali Grapppler vs. Boxer match. Inoki used to work with PRIDE FC as well. Even Renzo Gracie did a Pro-Wrestling match with Antonio Inoki.

Bryan Danielson (goes by Daniel Bryan in WWE) trains at Xtreme Couture.

Mark Calaway (The Undertaker) said "I'm not going to pro-wrestle much any longer. I want to manage MMA fighters as I retire from Pro-Wrestling."

Brock Lesnar left WWE on bad-terms involving lawsuits. So he won't go back to WWE.

Also Shane Carwin has been getting into verbal arguments with fans on twitter even saying stuff like: "If you are a fan of any MMA website, you are not a fan of a fighters."

Urijah Faber did wrestle in college at 133 lbs, so the weight-cut shouldn't be an issue for him

Chad "Money" Mendes is part of Urijah Faber's Team Alpha Male. Faber and Benavidez said that Mendes gives them the most trouble in training

Seriously guys hearing you talk about Pro-wrestling is like listening to Bill O'reilly talk about MMA, your stance is all wrong, Pro wrestlers are as dedicated and athletic as MMA Fighters. In fact a lot of MMA internet fans are also fans of pro wrestling, and just because it's scripted doesn't mean that anyone can walk into a ring and do what they do.

Interesting thing is that Daniel Cormier not only trains up at AKA, but he also trains at Trevor Wittman's Grudge Training Center where Rashad Evans, Nate Marquardt, Duane "Bang" Ludwig, Shane Carwin, & etc...train at.

I hear ya Julian. I for one should never be one to talk about Pro-wrestling. I agree that they are all athletes and have a grueling schedule that has to be physically rough. I even watched a TUF-like show where the winner got a WWE contract. It was a good show (I think Dan Puder won) and showed me alot as far as what it takes to make it in the "business". My issue stems from those who think of it as a sport and not solely entertainment.

Heck, I like NASCAR so I better not judge anyone!

JDH...i don't think anyone really thinks of pro-wrestling as a "sport", but "sports-entertainment."

Jeff Sherwood founder of sherdog.com said "i don't think even MMA is a sport yet."

Vince McMahon doesn't want there stars to use the word "pro-wrestling", but "sports-entertainment" instead. Vince McMahon always refers to stars as "Superstars" or "sports entertainment entertainers", not "pro-wrestlers" anymore.

JDH...being a good guy in pro-wrestling doesn't mean much now-a-days. John Cena who plays a "baby-face" lost his popularity over the years and gets boos now, even though he plays a good guy.

there are some parts of the world where there are "pro-heel" crowds and they cheer the "heel"

Great Show!

I wish you guys would do more Banter at the beginning of the show. Just let it flow. I was really getting into it when you switched gears to MMA stuff.

Rampage Jackson said that he doesn't care about winning or losing anymore that he only wants to put exciting fights from now on.

B.J. Penn said that after all these years that he still hasn't figured out what does and doesn't work for him in MMA. He still hasn't really figured out his training regiment yet.

"Dr. MMA" Tim Lee said...

Rampage Jackson is training with Lance Gibson MMA now. Lance Gibson is a former UFC fighter. Rampage's strength & conditioning & nutritionist is Mike Dolce from TUF season 7. He is also training BJJ with Junior Perez in Orange County, CA. Rampage also trained up at Big Bear with Lance Gibson & co for this fight
