First of all I am very happy about the Rampage win, I spent all day saying to friends and family that Rampage chances didnt look good but I was still pulling for him. So very excited.
Now on to business, a lot of you will look at this as a bias comment because most of you know my number one favorite fighter is Rampage Jackson. But I am going to be unbias and I hope that I will have at least one agree with me.
Most of you are already calling "conspiracy" or "bullshit decision" but guys this is not PRIDE. The fight is not based as a whole, it is based round by round. See you guys who think Machida was robbed probably think the way of hey he scored to most significant damage of the whole fight in round 3 therefore he won? But if that was true then why didnt Rampage get the decision over Rashad? For two rounds Rashad man-hugged Rampage and in the 3rd Rampage scored the most significant damage of the entire fight and nearly had it stopped. So Rampage deserved to win right? Wrong. As much as I hate it, Rashad won fair in square cause he won rounds 1 and 2 despite nearly being finished in round 3.
Now in this fight if you look at it truly as an MMA fan not as a "judges are on the payroll" type of person, there was no CLEAR CUT winner of rounds 1 and 2. Not even I can sit here and tell you oh Rampage won the first two rounds. To be honest if I was a judge I would of scored round 1 10-10 round 2 10-9 Rampage and round 3 10-9 Machida. I am saying I would of scored it a draw.
But like Joe Rogan said the judges saw a retreating Machida and an agressive Rampage, therefore he was awarded the first two rounds. Plus Rampage did score a clear takedown in round 2 and caught him with a combination that look to daze Machida. Round 1 in my opinion is the mystery round, it is the round that made all the difference in the decision. 2 judges saw Rampage win the first round and 1 judge saw Machida winning it.
In all honesty as much as I love that Rampage won this fight and finally gets him on the winning side of things, ANY decision tonight would of been fair think about the Mir Cro Cop fight, if Mir wouldnt of knocked out Cro Cop who would of won that fight? Shit happens.
Either way though Rampage and Machida cant take nothing from this fight whether in victory or defeat because none of them put on a good performance, sure Machida pulled out a great final round but I mean someone of his level should of been able to finish Rampage once in full mount and he couldnt. And Rampage has to realize this is MMA not boxing and mix up his striking so he could set up his power punches.
Ok go ahead tell me I am wrong and that there was no way this was a draw and blah blah blah its cool.
Are The JDH and Chris Fries twins in picking fights now? they scored the same. mu ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha
