The Heavyweight Division is a piece of crap after the Top 10, so splitting division between SHW & HW around 230 lbs or 235 lbs is NOT a good idea.
The Heavyweight Division is a POS...In the UFC right now there are like only 4 to 6 HW's that are quality anyway right..
Really..Really...People are saying that Leben Vs. Akiyama should be a fight of the year candidate? One of the criteria for fight of the year candidate is "A Fight that went the distance (A.K.A. to a decision)"
Rankings to me are nothing but a mythical poll or a snapshot in that moment.
Hi,
my name is Hendrik, I am one of German MMA-fans.
Looking for a MMA podcast, I found yours, because there aren´t any German ones.
I wanted to give your show a chance and it´s great.
Even though I do not understand anythink ( but I think 85% +) I love it.
As well it´s cool that you as Americans watch the football world cup. And that you like the performances of the German team. Our country is freaking out (as every four years).
I will try to listen to all of your shows in the future.
But tell me, what is MMA´s position in society in America?! In Germany there are very few fans, but very big critics, nearly the whole media and some local politics who want to win votes by populistic phrases. (They always talk about UFC-fighters fighting until one of the fighters die...)
Is it accepted in the American society?!
I hope I didn´t make to much mistakes and that you were able to understand everything:)
Best wishes,
Hendrik=)
WTF is this gobbledygook? The HW division HAS ALWAYS been prime for 206-235 and 236-265. If it's always been and always will be "POS" as you so elegantly put it, why has it been talked about for over the past 3-4 years? Oh, I forget putting Dr. MMA in your name makes you expert. Same way you said Gonzaga will put away JDS because of Gonzaga's superior ground game. Great prediction on that.
oh and TLOS guys...George Sotiropoulos is a LW not a Welterweight...
and Wandy vs Leben will happen since that's what the FANS want to see.
Nice! "The Huggy Bear Word on the Streets" quote from Chris. Good Starsky and Hutch reference.
I love the banter in the beginning. I would love to have a banter intermission around the middle of the show where you could do more.
I think we might be losing some of the great "In the Life of Chris and The JDH" moments.
LOL, the Team Leather and Fries was in reference to that long ago photo of you in motorcycle gear when you were modeling. It was referenced by The JDH a couple of episodes ago.
Update on Ricco Rodriguez Vs. Alistair Overeem:
Dave Meltzer from f4wonline.com and yahoo.com did confirm that FEG did fly out Ricco Rodriguez out to Japan. Apparently FEG is looking for a new opponent for Ricco Rodriguez now. As it stands right now, it is Ricco Rodriguez Vs. TBA
Anonymous,
Stop putting words in my mouth. I take that personally, when people put words in my mouth. I never picked Gonzaga over JDS...I didn't even do predictions for the UFC on Versus 1 card
Anonymous,
Look at who is ranked #11 to #20 in HW and look at who is ranked #11 to #20 in the other weight classes
Bonnar vs griffin remach would be the one everyone would like to see.
