      The reason they called him the prodigy is because he was a young confident Jui jitsu champion who was rising through the ranks of the UFC like a balloon full of helium, not only did he have great ground skills but his stand up was absolutely phenomenal, BJ Penn has been with the UFC for a long time and is arguable the best veteran on the UFC roster, even holding the welterweight championship at one point definitively beating the strongest welterweight of all time Matt Hughes. There is no denying that nobody saw defeat in the near future as no one seems to be able to even put BJ on the back foot, he has even taken it upon himself to show that he was completely above any of the Ultimate Fighters put in front of him.
